The 56-year-old actress has slammed Twitter trolls who sent nasty messages regarding the news that Dakota Johnson will be playing Anastasia Steele in the upcoming ‘Fifty Shades of Grey movie.

In response to one of the nastier tweets, Griffith wrote: “Wow! Youíre quite the b**** arenít you? #dontmesswithmama.”

Earlier on, she’d expressed how proud she was by tweeting: “My beautiful child Dakota has been chosen to play Anna Steele in 50 Shades!!! Look out world! Here she comes!!! #proudmama.”

The news was announced on Monday, when the author of the erotic books, E.L. James, revealed that Johnson would play shy student Ana and that Charlie Hunnam would take on the role of Christian Grey.

“I donít think Dakota is good for itÖ.. But Charlie would be perfect,” one fan wrote on Facebook, while another said: “Hunnam could be a decent Grey with a little makeover. But who in the heck thought Johnson could make a beautiful Anastasia? Iím all of sudden not as interested in seeing this movie.”

The 23-year-old blonde has previously starred in films such as ’21 Jump Street’ and ‘The Five Year Engagement.’

The film adaptation of ’50 Shades of Grey’ is expected to be released some time next year.
